Hula Dancer Cocktail

hula dancer cocktail

I was inspired by my kids to make this cocktail which I’ve named the Hula Dancer. I realize how that sounds but let me explain. See, I’ve been dying for them to get over their obsession with Caillou so I started showing them every Disney movie I could to see if they would fall in love with anything else. They had a short-lived fascination with The Little Mermaid but they were still all about Caillou. So, I found Lilo & Stitch on Netflix and they sat and watched it for the complete 1 hour and 25 minutes. It was amazing. They actually asked to watch it when Caillou was on.

It’s been about 3 weeks since they fell in love with Stitch and they’ve watched it close to 50 times. So, for the past couple weeks, I’ve been humming Hawaiian tunes and singing Elvis songs in my head (It’s about an alien that crash lands in Hawaii and is adopted by an Elvis obsessed girl). I wanted to introduce a new cocktail to the blog and as I was thinking I was hearing “Aloha O’e” coming from the other room and thinking of a Hawaiian vacation. Thus, the Lilo & Stitch, Hawaiian inspired Hula Dancer cocktail was born. I made it using homemade pineapple infused vodka (you can learn how here), Triple Sec, some more vodka and a splash of pineapple juice and grenadine. You might be a reaaallly good dancer after drinking this one!
